bright, sinewy, melodic phrasing technique brings to mind Steve Morse...
technically stunning, always tasty...If [this DVD] don't get your heart
beating double time, you probably ain't breathin'." "...make
no mistake: This group is about bringing the unapologetic heat and light
of a power trio...and Young employs the appropriately ass-kicking approach..."

STICKS
AND STONES (4:53) |
"Rate
of Change is the Travis Larson Band's fourth instrumental disc and its
most accomplished so far: The tracks are exquisitely arranged and melodically
tasty, the playing is smoothly confident while technically brilliant,
and production is so sonically crisp the sound practically leaps from
your speakers." "Where
most bands create a micro melody and crowd it like a herd of hobos simultaneously
discovering an unguarded bottle of port, TLB puts many unique melodic
treasures in each tune and binds them together with fiery leads, thump-tacular
bass nuggets and a tasty barrage of thinking-man drum support, thus creating
a soulful tapestry of diverse, mind-bending prog-rock..."

"While Burn Season is unquestionably a guitar
lover’s dream, this dynamic power trio offers much more than the
dime-a-dozen Berklee educated wankers vying to dethrone Joe Satriani...."
"...an incredibly satisfying album that isn't bombastic or over-the-top,
but choc full of melody and expressive guitar work, superbly arranged,
produced and composed and just a thoroughly brilliant work..." |

"...this band has all the chops and blazing
technique to send all you wannabe shredders back to the woodshed, but
what makes them stand so far apart from their peers is the SONGS..."
"...one DVD that every guitar and instrumental rock fan should
seek out..." "Rock Show is filled with plenty of intriguing and memorable
tunes that instantly pushed me to repeated viewings..." |
